2016 Workshop on

Brain Control System and Computational Neuroscience

Bioreco Sciences Limited will exclusively sponsor the Symposium on brain control system and computational neuroscience, which will be held in Shanghai East China University of science and technology on May 14, 2016. The purpose of the symposium is to enable scientists and researchers to propose and discuss the latest progress in brain computer interface system design and EEG signal processing, covering multidisciplinary research fields from brain biological science to computing technology. Brain computer interface (BCI) provides the possibility of a new multidisciplinary technology that allows users to directly control external devices relying on the nervous system. The successful implementation of this method involves some challenges, including the design of new BCI paradigm, the research of new algorithms in computational neuroscience, the development of intelligent control system based on brain computer interface, and the application in neural engineering and rehabilitation engineering.

The conference invited world-renowned brain computer interface experts from many countries to give presentations

   1. Dr. Gunther Krausz, ing. Mag., an electronic communications engineer and neuropsychologist. He has obtained a master's degree from Graz University in Austria, and has been engaged in brain computer interface research and basic research of EEG for several years at Graz University of science and technology. Before joining g.tec in 2003, he was also responsible for teaching experimental psychology and research methodology in universities. Gunther Krausz is actively involved in a number of national and international research projects, most of which are related to BCI. These projects cover different application areas, such as communication and control of brain computer interface, evaluation of patients with disturbance of consciousness (DOC), real-time cortical mapping using ECoG, and BCI based neurotechnology for rehabilitation. g. Tec Medical Engineering Co., Ltd. provides hardware and software for universities and research institutions around the world to collect, process and analyze physiological signals, especially the real-time application of BCI technology. This presentation will include an introduction to the main methods of BCI technology, applications in different fields, taking recent developments as examples, and a discussion on the future goals and limitations of BCI technology. In the practice section, we will demonstrate some different life examples about the application of BCI in patients and research fields.

    2. Dean krusienski holds a master's degree in electrical engineering from Binzhou State University. A postdoctoral study was conducted at the brain computer interface Laboratory of Wadsworth center, Department of health, New York state. At present, he is Professor of electrical and computer engineering, advanced signal processing laboratory of management engineering and Neuroscience (ASPEN), director of graduate program and director of Biomedical Engineering Institute of oudoming University in Norfolk. He has co authored more than 70 peer-reviewed technical books and periodicals in the fields of signal processing, brain computer interface and neural engineering. Enjoy grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and NASA / National Institute of space research (NIA). The advanced signal processing laboratory of engineering and Neuroscience (ASPEN) at the University of aldoming is mainly responsible for the study of the electrical activity of characterization and decoding in the brain for various applications. This seminar will highlight the use of invasive and non-invasive signals, including: spatial decoupling of steady-state visual evoked potential stimulation, BCI performance characterization in ALS, and hybrid tactile brain computer interface technology for patients with conscious disorder, language disorder and ECoG decoding music disorder.
