Speech by the chairman

On February 28, 2021, the first round of the Forum on accurate assessment and clinical application of consciousness disorders and the first round of training meeting of key international (regional) cooperative research projects of NSFC was successfully held. Sponsored by the International Institute of plant state and consciousness science, Hangzhou Normal University, the conference invited internationally renowned experts in the field of consciousness disorders to give lectures. In this forum on precise assessment and clinical application of disturbance of consciousness, Dr. Christoph guger, CEO of g.tec, presented the diagnosis and treatment of disturbance of consciousness based on brain computer interface. Through brain computer interface technology, the existing thoughts and consciousness of coma patients are derived, which provides a judgment basis for short-term somatosensory induction in clinical medicine.

Consciousness is still an unsolved mystery, and the clinical management of patients with consciousness disorders is facing great challenges. Therefore, it is of great scientific and practical significance to explore the mechanism of consciousness, as well as the precise assessment, treatment and rehabilitation management of consciousness disorders. With the breath of spring, we welcomed the most anticipated obstacle of consciousness in February 28, 2021 this year.

In the clinical field of consciousness disorders, diagnosis is the most important. Because diagnosis can predict the prognosis of patients. In terms of treatment, there is no definite evidence of curative effect except partial evidence of TDCS in the world. Of course, there are some case reports, such as neurosurgical DBS, which is effective in individual patients. This conference will focus on the latest progress and development trend of basic research and clinical diagnosis and treatment in the field of consciousness disorders, hoping to provide an international exchange platform for you to explore new ideas and technologies in this field.

We sincerely welcome all of you to actively participate in learning and improving together! Thank you again for your participation and support!
